Now a days, people are constantly throwing around the word “passion”, especially in the millennial culture. The definition of “passion” when searched on google is, “strong and barely controllable emotion.”
So you are passionate about something that evokes strong and barely controllable emotion.
What brings up strong and barely controllable emotion in you?
It can be several things!
For many of us it’s our family and if you’re a Christian, it’s Jesus because of the sacrifice he made for you on the cross.
Maybe it’s job because you love your work and excited about the change or difference you are making there.
It can be a hobby like cooking/food or fishing (two of my husband’s haha!).
Whatever your passion is…
Your passions make you into the man or woman you are today.
God gave you very specific passions for a purpose.
When God designed and created you, He gave you your passions to lead you to your destiny.
It’s super important that you are very aware of your passions! When you know what your passions are, you able to decide how to live your life well and what to invest in that will have a meaningful purpose.
So it’s time to get out pen and paper! (or a google doc or iPhone note)
Here are ten questions to ask yourself to figure out your passions:
- What makes you excited in life?
- What would your ideal day look like?
- What do you enjoy doing the most?
- What do you dream about?
- If you had one wish that would automatically be granted, what would it be?
- What’s your dream job?
- What work brings you the most happiness?
- What inspiration or idea keeps coming to you?
- What do you want to be known for?
- What skills do you have that you really enjoy using?
None of us want to have a mundane job with a mundane marriage as a mundane parent. None of us want to be boring or be bored.
We all want to live for something greater than our day-to-day tasks, and we all want to make an impact in peoples’ lives.
I believe that knowing and understanding your passions will give you direction on what to do next and how to live your life with meaning and purpose.
I am so excited to help you discover your passions and find your purpose, and answering these questions is one of our first steps. I want to guide you on how to pursue your passions well.
